A real letter, every week, for someone who deserves to feel remembered.

Postal Pen Pal pairs older adults with a warm correspondence character who writes, remembers, and asks questions — reviewed by a person, printed, and mailed as a physical letter.

September 14, 2026

Dear Eleanor,

The zinnias along my back fence are still holding on, though the mornings here in Duluth have turned sharp enough to make me wear a cardigan when I go out with my coffee. I thought of you because you once mentioned your mother kept a cutting garden, and I wondered — did she have a favorite flower she returned to every year?

Yesterday I went through a box of Earl's old railroad timetables and found a route map from 1962. It made me think about how places stay with us long after we have left them. Is there a town or a street from your life that you still picture clearly?

I am planning my winter seed order this week. If you could choose one thing for me to plant next spring, what would it be?

With warm wishes and a packet of zinnia seeds,

Margaret

Margaret is a correspondence character from the Postal Pen Pal program — written with the help of writing tools and reviewed by a person before mailing.

              What you can count on

We are building Postal Pen Pal carefully. These commitments hold whether you are a family or a facility.

              Human review, every letter

Every draft is edited and approved by a real person before it is printed. No letter goes out on autopilot.

Lost in the mail? We resend it.

If a letter does not arrive within 7 business days, we re-send it at no cost and let the family know.

              Cancel anytime

Families can pause or cancel through the portal. We do not charge for days not used.

              Privacy by design

We encrypt data in transit and at rest, use Row Level Security, and never sell personal information. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

              Frequently asked questions

Is this really written by a person?

Every letter is drafted with the help of writing tools and then reviewed, edited, and approved by a real human editor before it is printed and mailed.

              What role does AI play?

AI helps us keep the character voice consistent, remember details from past letters, and draft each weekly letter. A human editor always reviews the final draft.

              Is this ethical?

We are transparent with families. The letter is from a correspondence character, not a real person. We never deceive the recipient about the nature of the program.

              How do you protect privacy?

We use encryption, strict access controls, and Row Level Security in our database. We sanitize personal details before they reach writing tools, and we never sell data. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

              Who can sign up?

A family member, caregiver, or legally authorized representative can subscribe on behalf of an older adult.

How long until the first letter arrives?

After intake is complete, the first letter is typically mailed within 5-7 business days and arrives via USPS First Class mail shortly after.

              Do you ship internationally?

We currently mail letters within the United States. International delivery is on our roadmap — join the waitlist to be notified.

Can I include a personal message in the first letter?

Yes. The intake form includes space for a short opening message from the family, which our editors weave into the first letter.

Are letters available in large print?

Large print formatting is available on request. Contact us after signing up and we will update the recipient profile.

Is this appropriate for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's?

Many families use Postal Pen Pal for loved ones with early to mid-stage cognitive changes. We match tone and content to the intake profile, and families can pause or adjust at any time.

              What is your refund policy?

You can cancel anytime. If you are not satisfied after your first month, contact us within 30 days for a full refund.

              Can I pause the subscription?

Yes. Families can pause letters for vacations, hospital stays, or any reason directly from the family portal.

              Can the loved one reply?

Yes. Families can upload a reply through the family portal, and our characters respond to what they share.

What if a letter is lost in the mail?

We track every letter through the postal network. If a letter is lost, we re-send it at no cost.

              How do I cancel?

Families can cancel at any time through the portal or by emailing us. We stop letters and charges immediately.

What happens if the recipient passes away?

We immediately pause the subscription and send a compassionate final note to the family. No further letters or charges are processed.

Do you offer jobs for staff?

We hire remote editors to review letters and intake specialists to help families. Contact us if you are interested.
